    • The CVHTF dispersed $75,000 in grant funds in 2012 with the purpose of building community capacity to address homelessness. Representatives from each of the three grant projects will talk about their achievements through this fund:
      1. Comox Valley Community Capacity Initiative: Amanda Ridgeway, Ignite Consulting
      2. Rural Affordable Housing Project: Harlene Holm – Director, Denman Community Land Trust
      3. 2012 Community Resource Fair: Sarah Sullivan, RSW – Manager, Courtenay and Campbell River offices & Positive Wellness Worker, AIDS Vancouver Island [hr]
  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – #2 Panel – Understanding the Issues 

    • How does the lack of affordable housing impact the health and well-being of individuals and our community as a whole? Looking at the housing continuum, from outreach to market options, experts will discuss current practices, such as

      Housing First, Supportive Housing, Transitional Housing and Emergency Shelters.
